My formal art training is in professional photography, which I have been doing for over ten years, but my acrylic pouring journey started a just couple of years ago when a friend asked me to attend an intro class—at my apartment complex of all places! I was pretty hooked from the beginning and it became my new favorite activity to do whenever I had the time. Surprisingly, within a few months of experimenting with this new art form, and through work of mouth, I was commissioned to do a massive 40” x 60” pour. I felt like I had tapped into something big, albeit by complete serendipity. I love the uncertainty of fluid art. It teaches you a lot about the control, or lack thereof, that we have over our lives. We can do our best to choose certain elements for our painting, but ultimately we have no control over how the paint settles into place.
I currently reside in Austin, Texas with my husband and two dogs.
